Unmen!!!
The unmen were Frankenstein style henchmen of The Swmpthing main bad guy, Anton Arcane.
Arcane was a scientist/Wizard who was obsessed wit immortality, so he spent his time trying to create the perfect immortal body to house his brilliant mind. The Unmen were his early experiments along these lines, but when he discovered the Swampthing, he decided that swampy's body was perfect for his plans. Things didn't go his way though and his own body was destroyed in a fall. Arcane's mind was then transfered into an Unman.
